Reading the split
How to interpret the intelligence panel, the Service vs Product split, and act on what they tell you.
Open Resource Split in the sidebar (visible to admins, managers, and any role you've granted reporting access) to see, for the selected week:
Start with the intelligence panel
Pinned at the top, the Strategic Intelligence panel is the fastest read:
- Advisory notes — plain-language calls, colour-coded from on-track to alert. An alert appears when Product investment is running ahead of your committed Service target, with a prompt to review your allocation roadmap.
- Billable utilization — what share of paid hours went to client Service.
- Product investment — the labour cost going into Product, as a monthly run-rate.
- Unattributed capacity — paid hours not tied to any tagged task.
The split and your target
Below the panel, the effort split shows what proportion of estimated task effort went to each side this week, reconciled against your committed Service target:
- On track — the actual is within ±5 points of your target.
- Over Service / Over Product — drift beyond that band, in the named direction.
If you have finance access, the cost split expresses the same division in rupees using each person's CTC, so you can see the real money on each side.
The per-person breakdown
Each member's row shows their own Service/Product split and the hours they clocked that week. This is where a mismatch becomes actionable — for example, your most expensive people skewed entirely to one side.
How to act on it
- Product investment above your target? That's deliberate spend or quiet scope creep — decide which, and adjust where new tasks are tagged.
- Low billable utilization? Paid capacity isn't reaching client work; rebalance who's assigned to Service.
- High unattributed capacity? Hours are being clocked against untagged work — tighten task tagging so the picture is complete.
- Watch the trend, not a single week. The split is built from estimates, so the direction over time matters more than any one number.
